Doubting God

Malachi the prophet is a much better judge of people than Jeff Foxworthy or Jeff Hawkins for that matter.  As you read this last prophet from the Old Testament before the 400 years of “silence” you can almost here him say in our vernacular, ”You might be doubting God’s love if…”

Let’s press the ears of our hearts close to the pages of this book and maybe we will hear God say, “You are doubting my love for you…”

1. You may be doubting God’s love for you if…

 you give God what is left over instead of what is first and what is best. (Malachi 1:1 -14)

2. You may be doubting God’s love for you if…

you are not striving to live up to your calling in Christ Jesus. (Malachi 2:1-9)

3. You may be doubting God’s love for you if…

you are ignoring God’s instructions for marriage. (Malachi 2:10-16)

4. You may be doubting God’s love for you if…

you are questioning God’s judgment. (Malachi 2:17 – 3:6)

5. You may be doubting God’s love for  you if…

you will not trust God with your money. (Malachi 3:7 – 12)

6. You may be doubting God’s love for you if…

you are becoming cynical about serving God. (Malachi 3:13 – 4:3)

Malachi 4:4 -6 tells us how to regain a sense of God’s love by remembering what God has said and done in the past and by placing your trust in God for the future.

You too Christian can regain a confidence in God’s love for you by remembering what God has done for you in the past. “The Son of God became the Son of Man so that sons of men could become sons of God.”  The Lord Jesus Christ died in your place taking God’s upon Himself so that you could have forgiveness and thereby, eternal life. (John 3:16, 36)

God keeps His promises. He always has. You can also trust Him with your future, now and for all eternity. He is “working all things together for the good of those who love Him…” He has predetermined to “conform you to the image of Christ”. “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion in the Day of Christ.”  God will glorify Himself by glorifying His Son and WE who believe in the Son are “co-heirs with Him.”

Don’t doubt God’s love for you my friend.

Training Pastors in Zambia

Prayer Requests: 2012 Zambia Mission
My flight to Zambia yesterday had to be delayed because of passport issues. Hopefully this will be resolved in a few days. Please pray that I will have it soon.
Another prayer request is for additional funds for the work to be done while in Zambia. Would you prayerfully consider presenting this ministry to your contacts, church and associates to help with the expenses of this trip and future ministry in Zambia?
Here are the things I will be focusing on while in Zambia (May 22 – July 13).
1. Pastoral training Our main mission is to train pastors and raise up new pastors in the Word of God. I will be encouraging the leaders in this training and conducting as many leadership seminars as time and money allow. The emphasis is on the centrality of the Word of God in their ministries, proper Bible Study Methods and use of the training material as well as the implementation of the Hub Model of Discipleship.
2. Distribution of training material to over 1400 pastors presently in training or waiting to start. (There are over 1000 pastors besides these that are praying for training.)
3. The establishment of 3 new areas of ministry – Kafue, Mansa, and Kabwe.
4. The organization of a new Region This will be the combining of 5 districts into the Muchinga Region under the leadership of Pastor James Bwalya.
5. Encouragement of the work in the extreme Northwestern Province around Kabompo. This is a very difficult area because of its remoteness. Pastor George Masela is the District Leader there and needs our encouragement.
6. Outreach in Rural Livingstone area, working with our pastors there.
7. DRC There will also be contact with our work in DRC on the border of Zambia. The District Leader, pastor Deco, is waiting on French training material and Swahili Bibles. We will also instruct and encourage him and his leaders in the HUB model of discipleship.
As you can see there is much that is hoped to be accomplished. Please partner with us, the pastor-missionaries and me, as we strengthen their hands with pastoral training, bibles, ministry tools and encouragement in the work they are doing.

6500 indigenous pastors are in Bible training at the present moment with Hope Builders Ministries in 8 African countries.  1400 of these are in Zambia. This biblical training of pastors affects multiple thousands of believers in the congregations of these pastors. New congregations/churches are continuously being founded as the Word of God spreads in remote areas where multiple languages and cultures are not a barrier to these indigenous witnesses for Christ.

Zambia Mission

May 15 begins a two month mission in Zambia for Jeff.  The mission will include distributing over 2500 new training manuals, conducting a District Leaders conference and starting 5 new HUBs in the Mansa, Kafue and Kabwe areas. Jeff also hopes to travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo to meet and work with District Leaders there. Lou Ann will be joining him the last two weeks of the trip with a team from the USA.

Prayer requests:
  1. The training manuals must be transported from South Africa through Zimbabwe and into Zambia. It is a very large distribution requiring a large vehicle and trailer or shipping commercially. Either way is expensive and logistically difficult.
  2. Traveling in the country is expensive – cost of fuel and wear on the vehicle – condition of the roads.
  3. Health: malaria and “fly” born sicknesses are always concerns.
  4. Safety for the 25 pastors as they travel to the conference to be held in Murundu. The conference will cost $3000 and includes food, lodging and travel expenses.
  5. Total estimated cost of the trip is $10,000.
  6. That in all things known and unknown, seen and unforeseen that Jesus Christ will be glorified and the Pastors edified in Zambia.

Bloody Friday – Remembering the Man of Sorrows

Isaiah 53:1-4 God became the “Man of Sorrow” from the moment of His conception to His last breath at His bloody crucifixion. He consciously “bore our griefs and carried our sorrows” all the days of His earthly journey.
God became a man!

“Man of Sorrows, What a Name!
For the Son of God Who came!
Ruined Sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah!
What a Savior!”
