HIMAfrica Helping Indigenous Ministries in Africa

Since June 9, 1974

Jeff and Lou Ann established HIMAfrica in 2007 after pastoring in Kentucky for 18 years. The dream began in 2003 when Jeff met Johan Gous with Hope Builders Ministries and became interested in the work of God among national pastors and Christians in Africa. This incredible work of God described by Johan was so fascinating and compelling that he had to see for himself this “harvest” field. In 2005 Jeff joined an international team of believers working in Zambia. It was amazing to be a part of this team winning thousands to the Lord and helping to plant 25 new churches in ONE week! Jeff personally witnessed hundreds coming to Christ and 7 new churches started. This experience compelled him to return to Africa in 2006 and conduct a Bible Conference in Zambia and then join another evangelism and church planting team in Mozambique.
Again the response to the Word of God was overwhelming.

In 2007 Jeff and Lou Ann knew that God was moving them into a different type of ministry, a ministry to African pastors helping them to train other pastors and make disciples of Jesus Christ and plant new churches. Jeff and Lou Ann became “HIMAfrica” to partner with believers in America to meet the need of training the pastors of the new churches being planted by national ministries like Hope Builders Ministries Zambia and Gospel Crusaders.

Today Hope Builders Ministries is a registered ministry in Zambia with four Zambians and Jeff serving on the Board of Directors. The HBMZ is now overseeing the ministry of 22 Districts and 150 HUBS in 8 of the 10 provinces of Zambia. Over 1500 pastors are presently in training. Over 1000 men have completed their training and over 1000 new churches have been planted since the year 2000. This year, 2013, another 1000 men will begin their pastoral training. It is projected that HBMZ will also begin ministries in the Eastern and Western Provinces.

Jeff will continue to work closely with key leaders in Zambia to provide Bibles, Bible Training material, Bible conferences and other needs of the rural pastors like bicycles, motorcycles, eye glasses and training centers. Jeff’s role in the USA is to represent this ministry to churches, individuals and businesses seeking new and continuing partnerships.
